mache3 The old village (2)

The village is too small and isolated to have left a significant mark on history. All we know is that it is one of the oldest villages in the Val d'Hérémence and Val d'Hérens. The barn at the bottom of this passageway bears the date 1669, another building dates from 1620, while some of the houses date from the mid-19th century. Visiting Mâche is a wonderful journey into the past!
