Amis Fribourgeois de Montreux et environs

Groupe folklorique organisant sous le Marché Couvert de Montreux la Bénichon, qui a lieu chaque année le dernier week-end d'août.

Celebrated (usually by a huge 7-course menu) in the Canton de Fribourg, a catholic canton of the French-speaking Switzerland, the Bénichon is a combined harvest festival, thanksgiving and Rindya (the day when the animals are brought back from the high altitude pastures in the alps and where all villagers are therefore back).

The "Fribourgeois" living in Montreux meet at the Covered Market (on Market Place) every year at the last week-end of August for the Bénichon, with music, folklore, food and drinks.
