LavrioSouth of Attica, not far from Cape Sounion, Lavrio is the port from which ferries depart to Kea (Tzia) and Kythnos, the closest Western Cyclades.

HOW TO GO TO LAVRIO
There are some ferries to Kythnos from Piraeus too, but all boats to Kea sail from Lavrio.
From Eleftherios Venizelos Airport
Distance: 25 km
Taxi: 50 euros in day time and 70 euros from midnight till 5 a.m. (indicative price), journey time about 30 minutes.
KTEL bus: 4 euros. Usually every hour, bus from airport to Markopoulo (about mid-way), then bus from Markopoulo to Lavrio (very frequent).
From Syntagma (center of Athens)
Distance: 60 km
Taxi: 65 euros in day time and 80 euros from midnight till 5 a.m. (indicative price), journey time about 75 minutes.
KTEL bus: 4.90 euros (+ metro 1.20). M3 metro line to Omonia (2 stops), then M1 to Victoria (1 stop), then follow Heiden Street to Pedion Areos.
